Summer 2026 has been a busy period for the facilities team. Improvements and repairs were successfully completed across all of our Doncaster sites, and we also welcomed Steven Overson to the facilities crew.
Improvements
Norton: Two new energy-efficient aluminium external doors replaced the old wooden doors and the old wooden cladding was replaced on the kitchen facia with Upvc cladding.
Green Top: The tired hall flooring has been fully stripped, sanded and refinished. The fire alarm system has been upgraded to allow future expansion of the system.
Carcroft: The front facing external metal railing have been re-painted. Design work has been carried out and materials ordered ready for the phased lighting upgrade to the circulation areas.
XPD: Had further works complete towards the access security alterations.
Plover: Had the EYFS F2 area fully refurbished, this has been by far the biggest refurbishment of the summer involving all the members of the team, Dave assisted with the strip out and building of new boxings to house the new ventilation and drainage alterations, Jim also assisted with the strip out and has been amazing at keeping the site clean at key stages, Steven joined the team in week 3 of the summer and had a huge impact freeing up Dave to be able to complete the work at the other schools. Gary installed the new ceilings, rewired and installed new lighting and energy saving controls and organised all the external trades. Tracey played a huge part in keeping everybody fed and especially watered in what was a very hot summer and also organising the cleaning at the endof the works Thank you Tracey! We also thank all the Plover staff from EYFS for making sure the area was cleared and ready for us to start work on the 1st day.
