XPose 2019 booking open

Welcome to XPosé!

Our annual conference at XP attracts delegates from all over the world and covers a wide range of education, community and partnership work – in essence – ‘How We XP’.The feedback from previous years has been wholly positive and enthusiastic – it’s always a day of innovation and inspiration.

So, whether individual, school, organisation or business – if you work in and around education, this is for you. From creatives to commentators, researchers to community leaders and supporters …

We will be sending a definitive itinerary out for XPosé in early June, when delegates will have the opportunity to choose key workshops – usually from eight – they wish to attend. However, we know these will broadly cover this year: curriculum, leadership, behaviour and technology.
Relationships (Crew), community engagement, beautiful work and ‘How We XP will also be at the heart of the day.

A student presentation as part of the morning programme, keynote speech in the afternoon, as well as opportunities for networking, also make up the conference day.
Refreshments will be served from 8am and throughout the day – as well as lunch.

We do hope you can join us …

Post 16 launch!

Dear parents and students,

We are launching our Post 16 provision on Monday October 8th at 6pm in XP East. We look forward to seeing you there, as I am really excited to talk to you all about what Post 16 will look like and the amazing opportunities we will continue to provide our students as they become career, life and university-ready.

For those parents who would like a more intimate and questioning forum, with the ability to feed into the design of our provision prior to our launch, I am hosting a parent stakeholder meeting this coming Tuesday 2nd October at 5pm in XP East also.

See you there!

Gwyn

Just another day at XP Trust…

It is a privilege to work at XP Trust but I don’t reflect enough on the wonderful things I see and experience every day as I work alongside students, teachers, colleagues and other stakeholders in, and across, our Trust. As one of our Design Principles is ‘sharing our stories’  I have made a commitment to share my stories on the Trust website so that those moments are captured and celebrated more often.

So, here we go!!!!

One of the highlights for me in January was the Festival of Learning organised by XP University. The event took place on a Staff Day as staff from across our Trust gathered together as Crew to explore, critique and contribute to our newly proposed Trust wide Teaching and Learning model. The model draws together best practice from across the Trust and from other schools so that we have a consistent way of talking about, sharing and developing high quality learning experiences for all our young people and staff.

The model is underpinned, crucially, by five fundamental principles that inform our lesson design. These are:

  • Learning through expeditions
  • Feedback
  • Leaders of our their learning
  • Curriculum
  • Literacy

In addition, we proposed using a simple but effective methodology to inform lesson planning that ‘Activates, Constructs, Demonstrates and Consolidates’ learning or AC/DC for short!!! Staff worked through the model in a series of practical workshops and made a commitment to develop and embed this practice in every school across the Trust.

Check out this short clip that shows highlights from the day!

It was a fantastic day and showed how dedicated and determined our staff are, across the Trust, to ensure our kids create beautiful work, grow their characters and achieve academically.

To conclude…

Celebrating Success at Green Top

Over 5 years ago Miss Stewart and Miss O’Neill started their journey with us at Green Top as apprentices.  They then progressed and secured Learning Coach positions whilst studying towards a degree in Education.  Over the last two years they have both completed their degree and qualified as teachers!  We are so unbelievably proud of them both and grateful that we were a part of their special journey.  Sadly we didn’t have any teaching positions for them at Green Top so they have secured teaching positions in other schools.  Again, we are so, so proud of them!  We wish them both lots of luck in their new schools and know that they will be wonderful teachers inspiring many children in the future!

School Cook retires after 30 years at Green Top

This year we say goodbye to Sue, one of our school cooks.  She has been looking after us all for 30 years and we will be sad to see her leave!

We presented Sue with flowers and gifts today and celebrated her time at Green Top!

Good Luck Sue!

XP Students gift their gorgeous terrariums to care homes in Doncaster

Year 9 students from XP and XP East gifted 30 terrariums they created for the residents of the Oaklands Care home this week. The home on Bawtry Road was delighted to accept the miniature indoor gardens, which the residents will look after and keep.

Darren the Oaklands manager is pictured here accepting the terrariums – all of which are low maintenance and were happily handed over to residents.
